Marriage, How to know you are right for each other

Marriage is a big deal. After all, it’s a lifelong commitment and you want to make sure that you’re making the right decision. There are plenty of factors to consider when deciding if you’re compatible with someone: do your values align, is there mutual respect and understanding, do you have similar goals for the future?

The best way to assess whether you and your partner are compatible is through open communication. Talk openly with each other about the things that are important to both of you and make sure that your values align. If you have different views on certain topics, discuss them and try to come up with a mutually agreeable solution.

What really determines if you are compatible is not that you have differences. But do you understand your differences and how will they help of hurt your relationship. For example a man maybe focused on financial issues. The woman maybe focused on family size. In marriage these differences must be embraced for long term success.

Many times as couples age together those issue in the beginning that feel like they were tearing the marriage apart. May have been what we as individuals needed to work on the most. This is why it’s important to look at the big picture and not just the small differences.

In addition, being able to compromise is essential for a strong marriage. Knowing when to give in or stand your ground will help ensure you don’t cause unnecessary stress and tension in your relationship.

Growth is found in the times of tension and stress. Marriage is full of joy and pain. Not only in a family do children grow, but also Husbands and Wives grow. To cultivate a successful partnership or relationship, it is essential to be amenable to each other's decisions. These decisions need to be taken serious and discussed.

It just could be that our differences are just what we need to find long term stability in marriage. Communication, understanding and compromise are the key ingredients to success in marriage. If you feel that you have these items in your relationship, then it’s likely that you and your partner are right for each other. Take some time to really reflect on your relationship and decide if this is the path for you. Good luck!
