Somewhere between the dry shampoo days and the school pickup line, I decided I wanted a signature scent — one perfume that smells like me on my best day. And then, because fairness matters in a marriage, it only seemed right that Jareth got one too. So this is our his-and-hers: Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum for me, and YSL Y Cologne for Men for him. Two bottles, one dresser, zero arguments about who smells better. (It's me. But he smells really good too.)
Hers: Libre
"Libre" means free, and that's exactly how it smells — like a woman who does what she wants and dares to be exactly who she is. It opens with lavender from France — clean, calm, a little bit bold — then Moroccan orange blossom comes in and makes it feminine and warm, and it settles into musk and vanilla that linger on your skin and your sweater. It's a warm floral, which in real life means it works everywhere: date night, church, the office, a Tuesday when you need to feel put together while you run the world from a minivan. The women over at FragranceShop agree — it's rated a perfect 5.0 stars.
And the bottle? Gold YSL logo wrapped around the glass like jewelry, gold chains at the neck, that sharp asymmetrical black cap. Half the joy of a signature scent is reaching for something beautiful every morning, and this bottle understands the assignment.

His: Y
Jareth's is Y by Yves Saint Laurent, and it's the men's counterpart in every way — fresh and woody, with bergamot up front and warm amber underneath. It's clean without smelling like soap, strong without announcing itself three rooms away. The link goes to the 2 Piece Set: the full-size bottle — that deep blue gradient glass with the big silver Y — plus a slim travel spray, all in a gift box. Translation: it shows up ready to give, whether "giving" means a Christmas present for him or, you know, upgrading the man you already have.
And the price is the same story as mine: $85.95 on sale (compare at $135), in stock when I checked. His-and-hers designer scents, both under ninety dollars — that's my favorite kind of math.

The Bottom Line
Every couple has their things — their restaurant, their show, their side of the couch. Now we've got our scents. Hers is warm, floral, and free; his is fresh, woody, and quietly confident. They even look good standing next to each other on the dresser, gold and blue. If you've been meaning to find your signature — or you're shopping for the couple who has everything — this pair is my wholehearted nomination.
