I have had the V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker for 18 months. I have a larger than average yard. The V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker gets the job done on our property.

I was hesitant at first to leave the old gas trimmer behind. I am now glad I did. Here are the reasons I like my V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker compared to my gas trimmer.

These are the main reasons I love my V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker over my old gas trimmer. To my surprise the power was beyond what I expected. The V20 Craftsman Weed Wacker has two speed settings. Currently I use it on low power. Not to conserve battery but it has more than enough power on low to do the job.

I also love the fact that the V20 Craftsman Weed Wacker has a built-in hook and works in conjunction with my Craftsman Versatrack system.

You can use a 2 AH craftsman battery or a 4 or 5 AH craftsman battery. I do notice a power boost when using the larger batteries. On a 2 AH Craftsman 20V battery I can trim 65% of my yard. With a 4 AH Craftsman battery or 5 AH I can do the entire yard on one charge.

The line and trimmer spool is one of the easiest I have ever used. Loading strings is quick and easy. I hated to run out of string on my old gas trimmer. On the Craftsman V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker I do not fear running out of string. It is so simple and quick to respool and get back to trimming.

We bought another Craftsman battery powered weed eater for our house a little over a year ago. It got the job done well enough that we decided to buy another one for caring for our farm in another state. We bought an extra set of 4AH batteries so we could keep moving along. This one is so much stronger, but at the cost of shorter battery charge life. But the double string and quick winding is SO easy to use! WoW, glad we got this one. I wish it had the rotating head to edge with, but I’ll deal with it any day.

I would definitely recommend this weed eater, but get an extra set of batteries.

I was a little confused because it took longer to ship than was listed in the description. When UPS delivered the trimmer the driver explained to me, it took longer to ship because the Lithium batteries couldn't be flown from California. Which I had forgotten how strict the shipping rules are when shipping lithium batteries. I was happy with that explanation. It took a week to arrive which is acceptable to me, because it is a great value.

I love it. Been wacking for 25yrs with gas and getting older and tired of it. ethanol gas problems, noise, weight, this is my first electric and it works great, I am on an acre and out front i have double driveway and bout 40 yrs of walkway to trim and edge both sides, then I do the back of property, lots trees, shed fence and my Mrs garden ,so when I got this I ditched the 2 2ah batts and bought a 6ah at Lowes. I was still afraid it would not be enough, out front i used high most of the time trimming and edging, on the back it was a mix of low and high speed since it was mostly trimming. after doing all that I still had 1 bar left on the bat. Sometime ill skip some things in back if grass is not growing fast and do it every other cut but this time I just wanted to see if it would match my gas ..i would have used almost a half tank of gas doing all that ,so i was impressed with this trimmer, grass was not as high last cut and i had 2 bars left, the feed worked perfect every time I bumped it it would feed, I ordered another spool for the bottom in case this one wears out,i think it was 25 bucks..im sure there are better and worse out there but for me this did everything I needed it to do so I'm a happy camper. I also have other craftsman tools so the batt will come in handy on the angle grinder and the circular saw. Oh almost forgot, I also used for cleanup the craftsman shop blower.it looks like a toy and is expensive but this thing kicks butt , i blow the driveway ,walkway and patio outback with that using a 4ah bat, this wont blow wet leaves in the fall but it cleared the drive and walkway of all the grass clippings and little dirt i kicked

The Main Negative

The main negative to the Craftsman V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker is the small trimming shield. I wish it was a little bigger. I also wish it had the rotating end piece so you can use it as a guide when trimming.

These are not deal breakers for me. There are so many other positives that these are minor issues. Any skilled weed Wacker user can definitely work around these issues.

Conclusion

I personally recommend you to buy this weed Wacker. I have a large yard and it does the job better with more benefits than my old weed Wacker. Don’t forget one of the biggest benefits to the Craftsman V20 Brushless Cordless Weed Wacker is that the batteries can be used with other craftsman V20 tools.
