Coffee Shop Addiction… oops! Edition
Hi! My name is Alyssa Navarre! I am a senior at Millsap's College and I am going to share with you the college student’s go to coffee shops in the area around Millsap's Campus! I also took an online quiz two years ago that said I was going to meet my soulmate at a coffee shop, so I frequent them often just to check in and see if he showed up yet… Anyways, here are my top 4!
Eco Grounds
If you go to Millsap's, you have been to Eco Grounds. It’s the campus coffee shop with options for small meals, snacks, and even smoothies. It’s actually connected to the Millsap's student’s ID cards if they have a meal plan! Some campus favorites are the iced caramel mocha and quite literally ANY of the smoothies. A lot of the athletes also purchase protein shakes they provide. And if coffee isn’t your thing, but you still want caffeine, they carry energy drinks too! I frequent Ego grounds approximately 5 times a week, so as long as I go to school here they will stay in business!
Coffee Prose
Coffee Prose has a history with Millsap's College. The idea actually began as a part of the Millsap's MBA program several years ago and it now has two locations in the area! It is a bookstore and a coffee shop in one! Their menu items are named after novels with a little twist. My favorites are the Nancy Drew which is a cinnamon and vanilla drink and The Gatsby which is a caramel and almond blend. They also sell popsicles that are coffee flavored, fruit flavored, and sometimes there are a few surprise flavors. You can actually see the establishment from campus if that shows how quick the walk is!
Native
Native Coffee is also one of my favorites. It has a more modern theme and is also a short walk from campus. I can see it from the window in the Admissions office when I work in the mornings! They are always playing great music and have any coffee order you could want. Most students say that this is for real coffee drinkers not all the fakers that just drink coffee flavored milk.
An added plus is that Millsap's usually buys the students coffee from here during event weeks like Homecoming and Family weekend!
Cups
Cups is a great place to get coffee and to study. This was one of my favorite study spots my first two years at Millsap's. I still study there quite often and I am going on my fourth year. A great thing about cups, aside from their atmosphere, coffee, and proximity to campus is their tea. I am not a big tea person, but I will buy the tea from here. When I study in the afternoon or evenings I am not necessarily looking for a caffeine craze so I usually enjoy their chamomile tea!
These are all great places to stop, sip, and study if you’re near campus! There are others in the area such as The Bean, PJ’s, and Urban Foxes. I don’t frequent these as often, however, I have yet to be disappointed!
